The last one, It's time to say goodbye

Hellooo!! The last time, it seems like yesterday when I started this blog at the beginning of this strange, short and stressful semester, and now, this is the last time I will write in this blog. Wow, how time flies!! Today I have to write to you about how I felt about this subject, the blogging experience and my English skills. I liked this subject because the language it’s a very important tool for our professional career, especially for those who want to pursue a career in the diplomatic area, also, this semester we had to read some lectures in English so, if you didn’t know English, you were fried. About the blog, it’s the second time that I have to do something like this, so, It wasn´t difficult to write about different topics, many times were a little bit annoying writing the blogs because I didn’t like the topic of the day and my creativity did not work haha. Now, about my English skills, I think that I have to improve my speaking skills, that’s weak point, because ...

Changes to my Study Programme

Hello! Today I will talk about the changes that I would make to my study programme. First, I would reduce the length of studies to four years like every normal career of other countries, I don’t really know why in Chile the careers have a length of five years (it’s really weird). Also, I would change the curriculum because the workload is too centered on the third year, so this creates a lot of stressful situations for the students, it should be more balanced among the five years of career. Definitely, I would improve the facilities of the “escuelita” qualitatively and quantitatively, because we have a lot of problems, for example, we don’t have enough space (but we recently moved to a bigger building, yeah that’s weird) and the direction increased the enrollment, and it will increase more the next year, because the political science will be added. Also the quality of the facilities should be increased, the computers are old and don’t work appropriately; also there is only ONE...

My Opinion

Hello world! Today I will gave my opinion about different topics, I think is very important to express ourselves, because that way we can create a “general opinion” composed by everyone’s contributions. So, let’s start with the selected topics! What is your opinion about child labor? I think that child labor is one of the worsts things that a person should have in their life, because it interferes with the normal activities that a child may attend, like going to school, playing with other kids, basically being a normal child. An also the child labor is very harmful to the child’s health, because children usually works under bad working conditions. So, I think that the child labor should be finished, because it causes health problems, poverty because children don’t attend school and they can’t aim higher, like going to college or getting a good job so they can’t beat that poverty situation. What is your opinion about recycling? I my opinion, recycling is a big contri...

Imagen
Hi! Today I’m going to write about one of my favorite TV shows, it is Love it or list it: Vancouver. This show is a spin-off from the American show Love it or List it; is based in the Great Vancouver Area and the surrounding areas of British Columbia. On this show a couple have to decide what they want to change of their house orb what type of new house they want; so the hosts, a designer (Jillian Harris) and a real estate agent (Todd Talbot), have to compete for who have the best option for the family, the renovated home by Jillian or the home of their dreams found by Todd. Now I’m going to write the hosts. Jillian Harris, Born in Alberta, Canada on December 30, 1979; worked in many programs in the USA like The Bachelor, the Bachelorette and Extreme Makeover Home Edition, now she returns home to Canada for making reality the dreamed home for the families of Vancouver. Her rival, Todd Talbot, born in Vancouver, Canada on June 12, 1973, he is a former actor an now he is a re...

Postgraduate Studies

Imagen
Hello there!! When I get graduated at school I known that the University stage wouldn’t be short, I refer to the undergraduate studies. I knew that if I want to be a good professional, I will have to improve my studies and don’t keep only the Public Administration degree.   If I want to make a professional career at the public sector, get promoted and increase my incomes (money makes the world go around hahaha), I need to keep studying and do postgraduate studies, in Chilean universities as much as foreigner institutions. One postgraduate degree I would like to do is the Master in Management and Public Policies at the Mathematical and Physics Sciences Faculty (as known as Beauchef) at the Universidad de Chile; because is one of the precursor Masters related to public policies and public management and is one of the best Masters of this topic. Also I would like to do a postgraduate study at a foreign university, probably Canada (at UBC) or New Zealand (at University of Au...

Hello everybody! Today I’ve an interesting topic to talk to you, my future job. In the future, when I already get graduated, the job that I would like to have is someone related to the agriculture or livestock development, especially with the small and medium  producer. Probably, at the Agriculture Ministry or INDAP (Instituto de Desarrollo Agropecuario or Agriculture and livestock Development Institute). I would like have a job that let me be work for the people, making or advising public policies, so a major in public policies will be very useful for this work. In this work I think I will have to go outside because I have to know about the people’s reality and necessities, and also I have to work inside an office, because the public management and public policies are in a context that you have to work in an office. At this job I would like to travel to different countries to learnt about the different context and policies of every country and applying it to the n...

Someone I would like to meet

Imagen
Hello everyone today I’ll write about one person who I admire and I would like to meet. This person is Demar DeRozan. He is a basketball player of the San Antonio Spurs, but until last season he played for Toronto Raptors (my favorite NBA team). He was born in Compton, California, in 1989; and grew up in an environment infested of criminals; also he is affiliated with the Compton Crips, a world famous gang, so, when he scores he usually makes the “C” hand sign. In high school, he became a promising basketball talent; in 2008, at his senior year, he won the McDonald All-American Slam Dunk Competition and the McDonald’s All-American , and also he won the Moore League Championship with his team and the Moore League MVP award. Then he chose to play with the NCAA team of the University of Southern California, the USC Trojans, over other universities from Arizona and North Carolina. In 2009, he decided to enter the 2009 NBA Draft as a prospect, where he was selected 9 th ...
