Animals and Pets
Hi guys! Today I will write about my favorite
animal, the gray wolf or timber wolf.
Why do you like it so much?
I like it because is a social animal with
a huge social or familiar group, every family are around 5-11 animals, and the
group is around two or three families, a big clique!! Also, wolf is an alpha
predator, in other words, this animal is at the top of the food chain, and has
no predators (other alpha predators are the human, lions and tigers).
Where does it live?
The grey wolf lives in the New and Old world
(Eurasia and North America), occupying deserts, forests and arctic tundra; depending
the abundance of prey, snow conditions, absence or low livestock densities,
road densities, human presence and topography.
What does it eat?
The diet of the gray wolf is composed of large and
medium sized ungulates, little animals (foxes, marmots, rodents, insects, etc.),
birds and their eggs, fish, primates, and also garbage in the urban areas, the
diet depends of the habitat.
Talk also about its wigh and lengh.
It is the largest extant member of its family, with males averaging 43–45 kg (95–99 lb) and females 36–38.5 kg (79–85 lb). A huge dog!!
Where can it be found?
You can found them in the rural areas of North
America and Eurasia, the forests of those territories, in many zoos and
conservation centers. Also, you can found cousins of the gray wolf the (European
wolf) in Buin Zoo.
That’s all, see you later :)
Wolves are the ancestors of dogs, and I like them, if they were tame I would like to have one!
